Spyware Prevention Through Three Habits!

Protecting personal information from spyware requires above all a change of behaviour from the user’s perspective. This article describes three simple, yet powerful habits which computer users should develop to safeguard their personal information from spyware threats.

Adware Vs Spyware – The definition of adware is simply that of any type of software package that automatically plays, displays or download advertisements on your computer. In the long run however, you may end up with more problems than anticipated with freeware and peer to peer software. Frequently, downloading these software also installs dangerous software on computers as well.

Being careful will work to your advantage in the long run and this should involve downloading freeware from trusted sources only.

Habit No 2 – Ignore Pop Ups. Like most computer users, you may have experienced popup ads, clicked on their links and accidentally downloaded spyware and adware threats, which now undermine the integrity of your system. The Google and MSN toolbars are free software from trustworthy sources, which can also keep popups at bay.

A serious limitation with these freeware is that they fail to deal with threats which are already installed on the user’s system.

Too many users blindly accept any free download that come their way and unknowingly install adware and spyware on their systems. It is a sad fact of the internet today that some programs or files cannot be downloaded unless spyware end up on your hard disk as well. The next time you think of ways to block spyware, we hope that you will aslo avoid any download from unfamiliar sources. Do not download programs unless you understand their purpose. What’s The Best Spyware Removal Program?

spywarewarningOnce upon a time in the age of the internet the term spyware was unknown… However now its been estimated that cyber crime, facilitated through spyware programs in many cases, has surpassed drug trafficking as a criminal money-maker. It is also estimated that every three seconds, an identity is stolen worldwide. So the question of the day is, What’s the best spyware removal program?

The simple truth though is that the market is flooded with an arsenal of products, many of which will remove spyware. Having been a computer technician for over 8 years, a considerable portion of my time in the field, I get to see what works and what doesn’t.

In my personal opinion the best spyware removal program, hands down is MalwareBytes Anti-Malware. Your first reaction is probably, “who?”, they seem to be the hidden secret of the IT industry, with awareness growing daily. The program has the following that I feel are lacking in its competitors:

  1. It’s simple ( many products on the market are bloated with features and complicated screens)
  2. It’s effective ( one of the only few that kills rouge anti-virus software)
  3. It’s extremely affordable ( should you decide to upgrade to the paid edition)

The facebook fan page for MalwareBytes is rather impressive, you’ll find over 4,700 fans all with nothing but great things to say about the spyware removal program. Interesting to note that none of the “other” spyware removal programs seem to be embracing social media…

Watch for my next post in this three part series of What’s The Best Spyware Removal Program..

Your computer is very much a central part of your everyday life, so be sure to get your FREE copy of MalwareBytes to avoid becoming a statistic of identity theft.

How to Remove Spyware?

There are basically two approaches when it comes to the process of “how to remove spyware”

1. You either feel comfortable enough poking around your computer and want to fix it yourself.

2. You are looking for a product that will do the job for you

(what you should also look for a product that will protect you in REAL time, so your computer has proactive instead of reactive protection)

If you find yourself in the #1 category then by all means please click Manual Spyware Removal, and best of luck to you ! If you think you fall more into the #2 category, I have great news for you!

The Internet has become a rather dangerous place for you computer, hundreds of thousands of malicious threats are released daily. The most valued commodety on the Internet is YOUR INFORMATION! The great news I speak of is not a replacenment to whatever security software you may already have but an exceptional compliment.

The most important thing you should understand is that there is no ONE stop solution to keeping you safe online because we all have different ways in which we use our computers. Being a field computer technician for 8 years, I have seen many security suites fail clients. What I find most disturbing about brand names like Norton and McAfee is they are over priced and perform poorly. The best solutions I have found are a custom combination of separate applications to make up your security suite.

The saving grace against all the spyware floating around out there, is MalwareBytes!

You more than likely haven’t heard of such a product before, but allow me to share with you a dirty little secret the industry doesn’t want you to know… Spyware creation and cleanup is an industry in itself, that produces billions of dollars for companies and individuals all over the world. How do I know MalwareBytes is a any good ? Simple I have tried and tested it again and again, the results are always the same… It blows the competition out of the water!

Keep reading below and I have included screen shots and gathered testimonials for you.

The true test about MalwareBytes being a different kind of program made by a unique class of indivduals is this, instead of charging you a considerable amount and then hooking you into a ” subscription model” that bills your credit or debit card every year, get this… THEY CHARGE YOU A ONE TIME FEE!!

If you have multiple computers they offer a generous volume discount structure that is more than worth it.

I have included some photo showing MalwareBytes in action on several different computers, these computers either did NOT have MalwareBytes installed, or had the free edition which does not have real time protection:

The choice to upgrade is on you will not regret, people often as me which is better and my answer is always the same, “Do you really have the time tobottom-buymanually update the program, or scan your computer?” most end up realizing the simple ONE time investment in their computer information safety is well worth the convenience of having:

  1. Real time protection ( being alerted of spyware infections as they are happening to stop them then and there!)
  2. Scheduled Updated
  3. Scheduled Scans
